Editing Guidelines:

• Focus: editors will help to eliminate repetition and curtail unnecessary verbosity. Clear and concise, yet refined and scholarly.

• Voice is improved by keeping personal style consistent.

• Motivation should be evident in facts, not in personal opinion. We make sure that your arguments reflect cited or accepted facts and are free from personal pronouns.

• Structure: the paper's content should always be topical; in addition, the paper should make logical progressions instead of jumps from topic to topic without resolution or reasonable transitions. When necessary, we restructure and provide sample lead-in sentences at the end of each paragraph.

• Flow and continuity are very important. When a grader is forced to painstakingly forage for a thesis statement, conclusion, or supporting research, it is unlikely that you'll get the grade that you want.
  
  
  • Precision. Words and phrases are often misused; we make sure that your prose is contextually relevant. In the case that they are not, we will suggest alternative words, phrases, definitions, and arguments.
  • Logic. If you are to be taken seriously, your document must not contain any logical fallacies. We will point out contradictions and comment on your argument's assumptions.
  • Spelling. Some words fall under the radar when running spell check. For instance, the 'u' is next to the 'i' on a keyboard; 'shut' can easily be typed incorrectly and get past a spelling sweep.
    
    
• We guarantee line by line grammatical perfection: perhaps the most basic attribute of a paper, grammar is deadly when used improperly. Professors expect, at minimum, that you are able to write a grammatically correct paper.
